Oliver Kim
Oliver Kim has worked on health law and policy at the state and federal level for nearly twenty years. Currently, he works in the health innovation field and serves as an adjunct professor of law with the University of Pittsburgh. He served as senior legislative counsel to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow for eight years and as the deputy director for the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging for two years.
During his Senate career, he worked on critical legislation such as the Affordable Care Act, the Medicare Modernization Act, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Additionally, Oliver was the legislative director for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, overseeing congressional legislation during a pivotal moment for the organization and its affiliates.
He received his BA in English and history from Indiana University at Bloomington, JD from the University of Minnesota, and LLM from Georgetown University. He has presented internationally and been published in legal journals with Harvard, Rutgers, Dalhousie, Northeastern, and Southern Illinois universities. He was selected for a Fulbright Scholar award to Canada, an Endeavour fellowship from the Australian government, the Woodrow Wilson foreign policy fellowship, the inaugural AcademyHealth Health Policy in Action award, and the American Council of Young Political Leaders’ political exchange program.
